
Greg Nott is a classically trained artist exploring the Modern Nude. Specializing in figure drawing and portraiture, his goal is to explore and celebrate the beauty of form through charcoal renderings, paintings and photography.












Artist Bio:
Greg Nott was introduced to figure drawing in 2004 while studying classical architecture in Florence, Italy. He included painting classes into his regular practice in 2008. Having careers in both aerospace engineering and architecture, the curvilinear lines of nudes became a refuge where he could explore the more organic contours and shapes of nature. Greg is influenced by the techniques of John Singer Sargent, the abstract rhythms of Wassily Kandinsky and the lyrical grace of Alphonsa Mucha. He is inspired by the contemporary Modern Artists, Jeremy Mann for his use of erotic shadows of,... the Romantic lighting of and … boudoir studies of . As a trained engineer and architect Greg strives to be accurate and true to form while capturing in his nude portraits a subtle vulnerability and sensual authenticity. Using charcoal, watercolor, oils, pencil, ink and photography, he creates drama using strong contrasting values of darkness and light. finding shadows and losing edges. His style is classical with a modern sensibility. Greg seeks to portray the body being confident and at peace with itself. His work is a celebration of feeling connected to beauty.
